Event: ENSFR Reading Group, October meeting

With the beginning of the new term, our monthly reading group meetings start again. The next short fiction reading group meeting will take place (via Zoom) on Monday 5th October at 5pm (UK time). Below, you can find information on how to join the online meeting room.

1) What genre would you say Barrett’s “Ontario” belongs to?

3) What role do the writer’s thoughts play in the story?
4) What is the effect of anti-climax in the story?
5) Do the writer’s confessions/injection add complexity to a simple narrative event?
6) Why do you think Barrett decided to call the story “Ontario”?
